Private road transfers from Cairns airport or hotels in Cairns, Palm Cove or port Douglas is a unique way of seeing a little more of Far North Queensland and ideal if you don’t relish the idea of flying to the Lodge.

You will be collected by private vehicle and driven to the Lodge along the coastal route one of the top 10 of Australia’s most scenic drives, past magnificent beaches and ragged mountains, up into the lush ancient Daintree Rainforest. At Cape Tribulation you will transfer to our own Bloomfield 4WD vehicle for the last part of the journey on the infamous Bloomfield track, an exciting ride on gravel road through pristine World Heritage rainforest with steep climbs and descents and river crossings. The drive finishes at the Bloomfield wharf where you will aboard our boat and cruise downriver and across Weary Bay to the beachfront entrance of Bloomfield Lodge. The total travelling time will be approximately 4 hours.

Baggage

If you are returning from Bloomfield by plane, the baggage allowance on our aircraft is one small bag with a maximum weight of 12kg. The informal dress code at Bloomfield Lodge means that travelling light does not normally cause any inconvenience.
