    General Information

    Transfer Timings
Flights normally depart for Bloomfield Lodge at 09.00 and return to Cairns by 11.00. You are therefore recommended to stay in Cairns the night before your Bloomfield Lodge stay. Exact timings of your courtesy car collection will be confirmed by fax to your hotel the night before your transfer to Bloomfield Lodge.
    Baggage
Due to aircraft size, baggage is restricted to one small bag per person of 7kg. The informal dress code at Bloomfield Lodge means that travelling light does not normally cause any inconvenience. If returning to the same hotel in Cairns you should arrange to leave your main baggage with the concierge if possible; after your stay, if returning to a different Cairns hotel or travelling onwards your main baggage may be stored at the Hinterland Aviation terminal in Cairns. Please ensure that you bring all items of a personal nature with you as lack of road access to the lodge means that regular supplies other than food and drink are restricted.
    Climate
Far North Queensland enjoys daytime temperatures ranging from 26°C to 31°C for most of the year. Winter evenings (June to September) can be a little cooler. The main tropical rains fall during the hottest months from late December to March but are unpredictable, with some years wetter than others.
    Meals
Meals are served from set menus, however staff will endeavour to cater for any special dietary needs if advised at the time of booking.
    Swimming
Swimming is only possible on boat excursions to the Great Barrier Reef or in the swimming pool at Bloomfield Lodge.
    Power
Bloomfield Lodge generates its own electricity on a 240v system.
    Communications
Bloomfield Lodge is remote and mobile phones do not work there, however, there are direct-dial telephones in each room and a fax is available at the Bloomfield Lodge office. Internet access is not available.
For anyone wanting to contact you during your stay the direct phone number for the lodge is:
    +61 7 4060 8166.
    Children
As many guests do seek to get away from it all, Bloomfield Lodge does not normally cater for children aged under 12 years. However, children aged 12 years and over are welcome.
